We are Tom and Suzanne
and we've given our careers to this industry.
Between us we have three decades of experience in exhibition design and build at every level, every scale, and in just about every market you can think of.
We've delivered stands at Farnborough, at Paris Airshow, at G2E in Las Vegas, at ICE in Barcelona, at NRF in New York, and at dozens of shows in between.
We started Oaken because we believed there was a better way to do this. More personal. More considered. More joyful, honestly. And everything we've built since has been shaped by that belief.
Our Story
Tom spent years as Head of Operations at 4D Design and 2Heads, running some of the most complex and prestigious exhibition projects in the industry. Suzanne was a Director at 4D Design, leading on client relationships and business development.
Together they worked with brands that demanded the very best, at shows that allowed nothing less.
When 4D closed during Covid, Tom founded Oaken. Not as a replacement, but as something better. A company built around the things that actually matter in this industry: exceptional delivery, genuine relationships, and the kind of care that makes clients come back year after year.
Suzanne joined to lead on sales, marketing and client management, bringing the same energy and warmth she always has to every relationship she builds.
The name comes from the oak tree. Strong. Enduring. Part of a wider ecosystem. It represents everything we want Oaken to stand for: doing things properly, building things that last, and being the kind of people others want in their corner when it matters.

If something isn't going to work, we'll tell you. If a budget is too tight for what you're imagining, we'll have that conversation early. No surprises.

Exhibitions are complicated enough. Working with us shouldn't be. We make the process feel straightforward, transparent and, yes, enjoyable.

We genuinely care about every project we take on. About the client, the brief, the outcome and the experience of getting there. It shows in the work. And we're told it shows in how it feels to work with us.
